Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe?

Our treatments are administered by registered nurses in a medical clinic with medical doctors on site. Our clinic provides a clean, sterile, comfortable and safe environment. We use the same fluids, medications and equipment that are used at the best hospitals.

Intravenous vitamin therapy is a minimally invasive therapy that is tolerated by most people. With any invasive therapy there are a number of potential risks and side effects which are explained to you in our consent forms before you receive your treatment. Most of the side effects are low risk and are considered minor and short-lived. For example, bruising, bleeding from the site, and soreness. These minor side effects are easily avoided by holding direct pressure after removal of the IV.

More serious side effects such as allergic reactions and infections can also occur, hence why iv.me only operates from medical clinics. We observe all our clients vital signs before, during and after their treatment.

Are there any side effects?

Possible side effects include:

1. Sensation of warmth and flushing: this usually occurs if the infusion is given too quickly
2. Sensation of coldness as the fluids enter the body: if you are cold we have blankets available.
3. Experiencing the taste of vitamins in your mouth: This can be limited by having a meal before the treatment and having a snack during the infusion. It is also important to drink plenty of water before and during the infusion.
4. Other far less common side effects include risk of infection and anaphylaxis, an extremely rare allergic reaction. Our highly trained medical professionals are well trained in diagnosing and treating any and all possible side effects.

Who administers the IV?

All treatments are administered by our registered nurses under the supervision of a medical doctor.

What is it like inside the clinic?

iv.me hydration clinic is based out of established medical practices. The best thing about this is that if you have any other health related concerns we will be able to refer you to other trained medical professionals very easily.

Does it hurt?

In general, no. Pain is a subjective thing and differs from person to person based on their tolerance. If you are worried about pain let our staff know when you come in.

How many treatments are needed?

The number of treatments differs between clients, but if you would like to start on a vitamin replenishing program we can discuss this with you when you come in to see us!

How often can I get an IV?

This really differs between people, and depends on your health condition at the time. It is best to speak to our friendly staff about frequencies when you come in for a consultation!

What does an IV cost?

Our IV treatments range in cost from $149 and up, depending on the type of IV. There is NO consultation fee at iv.me.

Do I need an appointment?

Appointments are not absolutely necessary but they are recommended. The reason for this is that we would prefer to maximise your time, and by making an appointment it ensures minimal to no waiting time so you can be in and out and back to your busy life. It is also important that we address any potential issues that may arise with your medical history before you come in for a treatment.

Do you offer packages?

Our package offers vary from time to time. It is best to chat to our staff for the latest deals!

Is it covered by insurance?

IV hydration therapy is not covered by Medicare or any private health insurance companies.
